Scottish Mountain Database
The database contains information (height, location, etc) about all the Munros & Corbetts as well as additional information where available.
The Munros
OK, there are lots of "munros" in Scotland. Currently (as far as I know) there are 284 of them. This is subject to change annually which conveniently allows the SMC to update their publications and sell yet more copies of the "Munro Tables" (a must for every bagger) and their excellent guide to the mountains which is appropriately entitled "The Munros".
The Corbetts
Often overlooked because they are [often only a couple of feet (1 foot = 60cm)] under the magic 3,000 feet in height, the Corbetts include some of Scotland's best mountains including The Cobbler and Fuar Tholl which has earned renown as an ice-climbing venue. With this in mind, what are you waiting for?
Sub3000.com is an excellent Corbetts website.
Thanks
The data in our database was provided by Liverpool Uni. Their database (with clickable map) can be found on the uni website.. We have added our own features to the database to integrate it with our website but their database covers almost all the mountains and hills in the British Isles. Our version of the database contains only the Munros and Corbetts.
